2002 Trans Am Turn Signals
I have a 2002 Trans Am and the turn signals are doing funny things. Either direction that you turn them gets the same results. They may work normal for 2 or 3 blinks then pause, go again or even stop for several seconds. Would this be the flasher?
Thanks,

I plan to try a new flasher this weekend to see if that does it. I don't know anything else that it could be. I have never seen this on another car before.

Yep its your flasher. Real easy to get fixed. I've had the same issue on many cars before. That thing can cause all kinds of weird crap. One time it only made one side not work like I had a bulb out. I refused to believe it was it since it normally affects both on our cars but sure enough it was the flasher.

It worked!!! I put in the new flasher and it worked fine. I used the lound one which is twice as tall as the orginal but I had touble hearing the standard one with the tops off. It was not too difficult to change but the description that it is on the right side of the steering wheel is not enough. The following steps make it easy.
1. Lean the seat all the way back and slide it back all the way.
2. Raise the steering column all the way up.
3. Using a #1 phillips remove the 2 screws under the panel that has the
trunk release on it.
4. Use a 9/32 " hex socket to remove the two rear screes in the same panel.
5. Remove the panal out of your way and you will see only the connector on
the top of the 1" high flasher. (you will not see the flasher.)
6. This connector is at the far right coner of the pannel with a clip holding
the flasher.
7. Remove the flash, the connector and reinstall all.
PS I put my feet on the headrest and laid on my back to perform this
operation. I am in Florida and I kept the Engine running and the air on.
It took about 5 minutes.
Thanks to all

Hi nstephen,
What are all your symptons. I have another problem that has occured since I repaced the flasher. If the head lights are on then both front turn signals work. If the headlights are off then the left running light is off and the left turn signal does not flash. I am sure somebody has ran into this problem.
Thanks, Bill
