2002 ss camaro, a4 or m6? i'm in the middle

i was almost 100% sure i wanted to swap out my 4l60e in favor of a 6 speed. there is a guy not far away with all the parts to tickle my fancy. but

i cant make up my mind...

    should i have a built, stalled a4 or swap in a m6?

i'm not a drag racer. i just want a nice mean cruiser..

my trans is slipping into 3rd. so i'm going to be out of coin for a build no matter what. so thats why i'm here. if i built the a4 i would like a tight converter so it would be stockish around town and mean when i put my foot into it. but i have never even sat in a stalled car so i am absolutely clueless.

    please help..

    swap it, or built it?

Build what you have. No need to hassle yourself with a swap if you aren't dead set on a particular setup.

True... I don't mind the swap. I love the m6 that was in my 04 gto. But never had stalled a4 and I hear they are fun.

I have a 2000 SS that's an m6 and a 1998 thats a stalled auto with gears. As much as I love going through the gears, I love my stalled auto more. I had every intention of doing the swap on my 98 as well (got that car first), but now that I have a m6 again, it changed my mind. See if you can find someone local to take you for a ride in an auto car with a stall......if you were closer, I'd take you for a ride in mine.

I've always wondered how much fun a stalled A4 would be. If it were me I'd stall it see how I liked it. If you want an M6 after just sell your car and buy another one. The M6 swap is more trouble and $$$ than it's worth IMO.

thanx for the honest opinions.. i had a couple options lined up for the swap. but you're right, i can try the stalled option to see if i like it or hate it.

any advice for a good street stall?
