2001 t/a ws6
I am looking to buy one and looked at one today. It has issues-
-drivers windows only goes down part way and it is difficult to get it to go back up. Any idea on cost to repair?
-it was hit in the front, appears mild, some paint missing at the front of bumper and hood slightly off center. I'm guessing $1,500 to $2,000.
-service engine light on, owner (kid) says it is that cat & 02 sensor. $350?
I noticed the smell of antifreeze, engine ran well & at normal temps, no leaks. Any ideas??
Runs well, 65k, clutch good, interior nice, black on black.
He is asking $9k, will take $8.5k, I offered $8k, he didn't bite. He is deep debt on loans and cc, beleive he'll come around. Worth it??
Thanks

Any other mods to the car? Sounds high $$$$ to me. I'd say keep looking.

65,000 miles aint bad though. Black on black WS6. Have it inspected at a shop and get an estimate on the body work. Get the codes scanned so you know what you are dealing with. These things will give you more to bargain with. If you really like the car that is.

Kelley blue book shows $8200 for fair condition. So he is a little high. I'm having the bumpers on mine repainted and its only around $350 each. So just some stuff to think about. Oh, and window motors are only around $50 but they are a pain to put in.

KBB or NADA, forget which has it valued at 8,900 in fair condition. The seller texted me today and came down to 8,200, here is the CL ad

The car is what I have been looking for 2001-2002 t/a ws6 black on black with a 6 speed & t-tops & low miles. How easy is it to roll the odometer back in these?
Caught between saying I'll take it for 8k and walking..............

I personally think it looks ok. If it only needs paint on the front that shouldn't cost much. The prices I gave are for small town Nebraska though, may be higher out there. I don't beleive it is possible to change these odometers. One thing I will say is that 65,000 is a little early for cats to go bad but I won't say it doesn't happen. Look at the carfax, if mileage seems to be inline than I say go for it at $8000. Its hard to say what these cars are worth. They are becoming more and more rare. Whats the interior like, that could be a clue as to how it has been treated. Mine had 106,xxx when I bought it wrecked from a salvage yard but the interior is spotless and there are no leaks whatsoever underneath so I had to believe it had been well taken care up until it was smashed.
Junkyard bought and "refurbished" 2002 Camaro Z28 - Pacetter Race LT's, TS&P ORY, Frost tune, Magnaflow, Ported TB, SLP Lid, Circle D 3000, 3.73's, SFC's.
2009 Silverado Z71 - Magnaflow
2008 Impala LTZ - Wife didn't want the V8 SS!

The interior is very nice. He had a CARFAX report, I'll run my own, and mileage appears true.
Ran the CARFAX report, mileage is correctLast edited by rkh3; 04-07-2010 at 05:33 PM.

I really need to slow down, up to buying and selling a couple cars per year. I am making $ on each. I want to settle down with the t/a and keep it for a while, but I have said that before.
