2000 Z windows and radio quits

For no reason when it feels like it they quit working. If I turn the car off then back on again they work until the next time. Anyone else had this type of issue?

BCM possibly.

Take a look HERE if it's the BCM.

Yep it sounds like the common BCM issue.

It's an easy fix I did ours back in February. Just follow the instructions. It will be a whole new car afterwards.

Read the instructions. It can be resoldered

When I opened mine it was easy to tell where the problem was. If you magnify the area discolored area 10x you will see the cracked solder. Make sure you dont use a soldering iron that is to big. Get a small one for electronics at radio shack.

I have a similar problem, the drivers power window intermittly stops working and there is static in the drivers speaker. A mechanic told me that this was a well known defect in f bodies and could be fixed by adding a ground wire to window motor. So is it a lack of ground? or BCM?

BCM does not control the speaker. Just the regulator/switch and locks in that door..

Finally got around to it today, there was one connection that needed soldered I soldered the other 4 just because. That you so much for your information it is greatly appreciated.

this is so embarrassing. i go out with friends with the top down and they are like why do you have the windows up? and i say its a chevy.

BCM can be an issue for birds too

Pulled my BCM yesterday, took about 2 hours. Used both of the links above and all I could add is the BCM must pop out of the holder by prying the holder apart and pulling forward and down. I had no missing solder, but resoldered all five points. Ran the window that was a problem thru 8-10 up and down cycles. Hopefully my intermittent problems are solved.
