2000 ws6 - wheel speed sensor help!

ok motor heads,.. need some help here!
i was told that my right front wheel speed sensor needs replacing, ...
what i need to know is what would a car needing this sensor be doing or not doing if it needed replacing,l.. yes im a girl, but before anybody can tell me what i need on my car, i want the facts,.. so what would i be looking for in my car, if this sensor really does need replacing?

It it need replacing there would be code generated and the ABS Inop light would come on, Like any part of car they wear and are exposed to pretty much everything the wheel is.

It could be a bad connection, dirty or simply out right failed.

Remember to disconnect your battery, and then disconnect the ABS sensor Prior to cleaning.
DONT blow air across the sensor as this will send a high voltage signal to your PCM and burn it out.
Try cleaning it first, and if you still get a code, I'd replace it.
