1998 trans am ls1 secondary air pump I need help please
Hey guys I have a 98 trans am I lost my license for 2 years so I stored the car to keep myself out of trouble when I removed car from storage and took for a spin It fell on its face every time I hit the gas and has 0 balls I am getting secondary air pump and o2 sensor code not sure what the exact code number was but the one was secondary air pump valve A and the other was a o2 sensor code I didn't think the air pump could effect the way my car runs so drastically so any help much appreciated. Thanks

Umm...it's sat for 2 yrs correct.
Did you prior to storage:
Drain the fuel & coolant?
Prior to startup:
Replace the fuel filter?
Fill with fresh gas, coolant, oil & transmission fluid?
Turn the crank over a couple of turns to make sure it was freely turning?
Do a once over of wires and other hoses? (Mice just love eating on cars.)
Codes will help more but we'll see what we can help with.
Does it idle ok?
When you rev up does it blow smoke? pop?

^^ This. Sounds like things are "gummed up". Was there any fuel stabilizer in the gas tank when you stored it?

Hey guys I did add stabilizer and I have been through 2 half tanks of fresh gas it idles rough and I have to feather the gas just to get up to speed I didn't drain gas or coolant but the coolant seems Ok don't See any visual evidence of mice being present now or before.when I ppulled secondary air line it was sucking from exhaust side of hose not sure if that helps.

Do u guys think it's possible that the check valves r not blocking the air tubes anymore and it is forcing o2 sensors to send more gas to make up for access air and flooding my car due to false readings

I don't think it's the injectors because at a few points when I drove it would somehow clear up like I drove to the store about 5 miles it was running rough then on the way home I noticed it seemed to have a lil more power so I stopped in the church parking lot (sorry) and smoked the tires for a long run and it had all its balls so I parked it all happy and shit took out the next day went to get on it a lil too get out of the way for a school bus and it fell right on its face

I definitely now suggest you get a fuel pressure gauge and check it at the rail before we go any further.
Cheapest route thing to do would be to replace the fuel filter. Especially if you haven't already.
This is will let us know if it's a fuel issue like the pump. Even fuel lines can get gummed up sitting that long

Definitely don't go WOT on a car that's not running well. If it's fuel related, that's a for sure way to blow up your motor.
Boost gets you laid, unless your name is Jon.

Oh one more thing pull a couple plugs see if they are wet. By that I mean seriously wet. Smell if fuel or coolant.

I am having the same problem, can anyone tell me also how to check the secondary air pump, I have codes po412-po410 and po418 all related to the air pump.where is it located and how do you go about checking it?the service engine light have been on about a month, the car sits a lot but I do start it up and let it runs. I noticed that I was smelling what I think was anti freeze coming from the exhaust when I first started it up sometimes. I need help with this one so any help will be helpful.

you could always disconnect the battery for 30-45 mins. Must disconnect both terminals.

^^ This. Any time you resolve an issue on your car, the SES light often does not immediately go out. Depending upon the code, the automatic reset can take just a few, or sometimes many, run cycles before the light goes out. If you do not have access to a scanner, most parts stores will plug one in for you, but their policies on re-setting the light vary. Helps to have a friend that works there.
