1998 Trans Am driver door latch stuck
Hi new here, but here is the question?
My door latch seems busted or something. the lock and door handle rods move the levers but nothing is happening, I tried the key and power locks and nothing
I got the door panel off and can see in their and nothing seems out of the ordinary but when I felt under the rods their is a piece just hanging a very small piece, I moved it up into it and kept working the door handle and still nothing.
OK, back to the question how can I make the door latch engage, it seems locked yet.
does anyone know how to disengage the locking mechanism?
or is a blow torch out of the question, just kiddingLast edited by Nukkl Dragger; 07-02-2013 at 09:09 PM.

Silver & Blue- 02 Camaro SS, 04 GTO
It seems like the door lock actuator is done. Not too easy to replace and adjust. A body shop can help you out with the replacement.
My ride is a 2002 Camaro SS SLP #3296 with 30k, LTH, 3" Y, CME, Frost tune, K&N, ported TB, Blackwing lid, Bellows, MSD, Denso Iridium, and 85mm MAF, Bilsteins, Eibach springs, SLP strut brace, Adj. Panhard, TA Girdle, UMI, Pro 5.0, Nitto NT555
My wife has a 2004 GTO with the rare SAP, 18" wheels, K&N Cold Air System, MSD, Ported TB, Frost tune, Denso Iridium, Flowmaster cat-back, 3200 Yank, 75k

I second the dead door actuator. That hanging piece you described sounds like the clip that holds the rod to the handle/actuator. Could have come loose when the actuator failed.
