160 Mph?

Is my car supposed to be able to bury the spedometer or is there some kind of governer, becuase I have buried it, but remember seeing somewhere there is a 120mph governer.

If so, was this most likely deleted by a tune or is it some kind of mechanical thing?

The car was tuned after several mods, but not by me, I'm just wondering if the governer has been deleted.

Depends on what tires came on your car stock. Some LS1's that only came with tires rated to 120MPH had a limiter at 120. If your car came with Z-rated tires that are rated at 155+, then your limiter is set around the 155 mark, although many people hit a little over 160 bone stock with the limiter in place.

If it had Z-rated tires, the limiter was set at 160-162. If tuned after some mods, chances are pretty good it's been removed anyway.
