10-30 or just 30 wieght oil
I have a trans am with a decently build 408 in it and I only use it as a weekend and track car. And I was told I should run just straight 30 wieght oil over 10-30? What wieght should I run?

Well since no one else is posted, I would just use a good top self 10w30 oil. Check out amsoil products and there is also schaffer oil which is top self. But pennsoil platnium is good, vavoline syn any would be fine. Myself I run 0w30 sso amsoil which I purchase from are site sponsor compsyn. Let me know if I can help anymore

Better startablity in cold weather. That's it, it's still a 30 weight oil but the amsoil 0w30 sso is some stout oil a great additve package. Have you read sarge sticky I am a oil junky thread. I thought I knew about oil until then.

If you’re never going to drive your car in temperatures of 40 degrees F or less, you could get away with running a SAE 30 motor oil. I still would not recommend it as a good 10W-30, 5W-30, or 0W-30 will offer better oil flow at cold engine start-up.
It really all depends on what ambient temperatures you plan to drive in?
