02 Z/28 dies when engine warms up.
This has been going on for months. The car starts and runs strong. As soon as it gets to operating temperature it shuts down. I thought a fuel pump issue so I replaced the pump. Car started fine, ran strong until it got to operating temperature then just shut down. any ideas ?

I had a friend who had similar problems. I'm not mechanic, nor expert but I thought he said something about changing his coil packs and the problem went away.

Here's another idea. I had a Grand Am that did that back in 92. That took a crank sensor. It used to shut off after about 15 minutes of running.

You could just start throwing parts at it or bring it to someone who can run it on a scanner or data log it. That will help identify the problem faster.

Yeah, this sounds like one for the scanner. It sounds like the expansion of the block might be causing a problem with the sensors but you don't want to be chasing this one. Take it to a dealer or someone with a scanner and let them warm it up and see what goes away or see if it has logged any errors.

My car did this but only after I shut it off when warm. When refired, it would run for 5 seconds then shut down and would run fine after another startup. Had the car tuned and all is fine now. Any mods to OPs?

Maybe it is a MAF issue. When it's cold you are in open loop and once it warms up it switches over to closed loop and that seems to be when your problem occurs.... You need a better tool than just a code reader you need to look at it with something like a Tech II or Snap on scan tool. They can do a lot more than just read codes.....

Haha!!! I feel for the guy but yeah it could keep him from chasing his tail... I am lucky.... I know a guy from hanging at the track that will look at mine for no $$$ with a Snap on and it will do what a Tech II will.....
Edit...HP tuners, EFI Live etc...will work too....

Well no codes, everything from what I can tell seems fine. MAF sends a signal as does the o2 sensors.
