$8500 dollars to spend what would you do ?

Ok i just got off the phone with Rick from rkt56.com and im ready to sell my repsol so once i do ill have about $8500 dollars to put into the camaro . Rick was saying that the rebuild is $450 for labor and the upgraded was $650 so $1100 then i need the 2nd gear fixed so i might as well change all the gears and sink rows <--- dont know the spelling ... so im guessing about $2500 spent on just the tanny so now im down to $6000 what should i buy the car all just about all stock except , headers , flow master exhaust which im changing the tips to a cme , msd spark plug wires , intake which kinda looks rigged so im going to change that as well . I also want to get a set of deep dish z06 rims which i found on ebay for $600 then a nice set of tires not sure which ones i want but i would like to know what i should buy , engine , drive shaft , rear , ? ? please let me know what i should get and about how much it is and where i can find it because im new to all these part and dont even know where to start. THANKS FOR ALL THE HELP GUYS

I would just change the muffler of the flowmaster versus the whole cat-back. I like the loudmouth personally but many people don't.

    Sadly now demodded :(

FWIW, it's spelled "synchro" (or synchros if more than 1) and it's shorthand for synchronizer...
    67 Camaro: K-K + 797-z (look it up), 454/Th400/4.10 12-bolt = 6mpg, PS/PDB/PW tilt, tach, gauges...

2005 Corvette LS2/M6 Magnetic Red Metallic (What else would it be?) w/ Cashmere interior

    2002 Z28: NBM/Tan, MTI smooth lid, smooth bellows, !AIR, !cats, 1-3/4" QTP SS LT's, 2-1/2" TD's with X-pipe, MagnaFlows dumped at axle, custom welded SFC's, MidWest Chassis body mount adjustable T/A, 3400 stall, 3.23 gears (was 2.73). Tuned: 343rwhp/357rwt (before TD's). Best: 12.559 @ 108+, 1.73 60' @ 3500' DA w/MT ET Street DR's.

The tyranny should be under $2k. I was going to sobs swap and a new built stage 3 guaranteed to 700ftlbs of tq with no trade was going to be $2k shipped to my door or shop, from tick performance. I agree with a new rear and the heads and cam will give you some good power or if you can find a deal like my friend who got.a.used vortech charger for $2500 that will also give.you a good gain especially if you have enough left for.a.good cam spec'd for the blower.

The first question that should have been asked is what are your goals for this car?

Rear end: MWC 9", Dana 60, Strange 12 bolt, Moser 9"

Trans: get new synchronizer keys, steel 3-4 fork, sliders and hubs...if a lot of power you might want to consider the Viper input shaft

Suspension: Koni shocks, Strano lowering spring, sub-frame connectors, adjustable torque arm, lower control arms, lower control arm relocation brackets

    Just look at my sig
Boost gets you laid, unless your name is Jon.

Wish I had $8500, for me this list would be what I'd do except the LTs because I already have them.

3000 for new 9" or 12 bolt rear from Mid West Chassis
3800 for LS6 crate from Scoggin Dickey
1200 for Lvl 2 Tranny Build from Tick Performance
500 for Pacesetter LTs and ORY or UMI Suspension upgrades

STS is junk and I would NEVER go with a rear-mount turbo. Just my .02.

Turbo - front mount. Garrett / Turbonetics / Kentucky Turbo

A lot better turbos out there IMO.

There is a reason why the STS is such low cost. Plus, rear-mount turbo's not only look like shit...but they also have a lot more issues than front mount.

Not disputing that they don't put down good numbers...

Just that they have issues. With anything, some people like to just spend as little as possible to get a good bang for their buck and not think about long-term.
