Will these work for the track?

I bought some LT1 style salad shooters 16" wheels. Will MICKEY THOMPSON ET STREET TIRE 28x12.5-16 fit in my 2000 Camaro for the strip or will I have rubbing issues? Thanks

my guess is there will be rubbing issues, 28" is pretty tall, and 12.5 pretty wide. It will be damn tuff to stuff those in there w/o rubbing IMO. Let me know what you end up with. I have 26x10-15 ets layin around but no wheels yet. (I still have 3 months before anything close to a drag strip opens up though)

I run 28x10-15's on mine... 10" wide is about it. I have adjustable control arms and had to center the axle for the 28" Dia and still had to mod the wheel wells a little. The 28" Drag Radial won't expand on the burn outs ! The slicks will...

Well I talked to the Place I was going to buy my slicks from. They said it would not work with 16x8 wheels. I guess I am going to press my luck with some 26.5" tall tires. I will be right at my limit in 4th. Hopefully, On the better side of the limit. At 6200 RPM my trap speed will be 114 MPH, with my set up. I think I'll be right there here in Denver 5800 Ft above sea level with my set up. Fingers crossed, I am going to buy them.

I really do not want to go with the Radials and will be running the Bias street et's. In my experience they grip a whole lot better.

Have you tried the M/T drag Radials yet ? They give you a better 60' and no swaying down the track !

Remember Jason...with the heads and cam you will most likely be spinning to more like 6600.

I am going to be pushing it with an 11.5.

I know the 11.5" tires tend to be on the 10" wheels.
Jason, I cut 1.67's on the MT DR's. They do great. Just a heads up. If they made a 27" one I would probably get them again.

I havent gotten the MT Et streets on my Trans-am but I do have the 11.50 on my 240 and I can say they are awesome!! 1.6 60' and a set of broke axles on the 2nd pass LOL!! Im going to try and not launch so hard this year!!(6400rpm out of the gate it didn't like!) Maybe Ill save an axle or two.

I switched from a non bias ply drag slick (which was causing swaying problems) to the bias ply Mt drag radial and honestly my radial hooks harder than my slicks did. Not sure if it was the track prep or what but I think you will be happy as I was.

Well I bought some MT ET streets to put on my stock SS wheels. I got 26.5/11.5/17's. Think I'll be ok with those. I have been reading and a lot of people run that size on our cars with no issues. Bought 2 of them for $372 includeing shipping. About the best deal I could find on them. I told the guy with the Salad shooters I didn't want to buy them after all.

Well between my Drive shaft and my new stickies, My tax refund is now Gone!! LOL
