I've got a buddy who has a stock 07 GT, he really wants to run my stock 99SS. I don't want to have to hear it from a guy I work with. Which car is faster?

make sure it's not a low end race, make sure you have a long stretch to get your cars up to high speeds, they hold with us on the low end, it's the high end where we dominate.

what I found when I raced my buddy in his 05 roush, it comes down to tires he got me becouse I didnt grab.

are they both autos or both mannys? or one of each? if he's an auto, at least with older gts, they run about a 14.5 in the 1/4 and you could sleep for a second and beat that, manny or auto. if he's a 5 spd, do the driver mod and learn how to launch first and you'll be set. have fun roasting his ass.

The GT is a M5 and I have a M6. I did ride with him and he shifts terribly slow, just wasn't sure if I had enough car.

Oh yeah you've definitely got him, as long as you drive right

. I have yet to see a bone-stock S197 match the 'magazines' tested 13.5 time.

I raced a 2007 at the track once... missed the r/t but when you run a full second faster (in my lid/cutout A4 vs his STICK lol) you just pull so much harder than they do that they disappear in the rear view lol

Stock M6 versus the S197 is a good race till you get above 70 or so. Don't let him pick a short race against you. 1st gear will almost be a dead heat. It will be the top of second where you start to pull and once you get over 100 he is going to drop fairly quickly.

There are two different gear packages for those cars and I'm speaking about a run against the 3.55 gear car. The base geared car is a high 13's car and your going to start taking him by the top of 1st.
