went to the track
I went to the track with the car bone stock with 273 gears and with 18"x9.5" C5 wheel with 275x40x18 tires and 17"x8.5". Its a 1/8 mile track. I put the stock wheels and tires back on it and I did a couple mods. I havent took it back to the track yet.. Do you think if I would have had the stock wheels and tires I would have done better. Being that they might be lighter. Oh ya this is the first time driving a car down a track. I race quad sanddrags too.
I have done SLP Lid,K&N,SLP Smooth Bellows.Iam gonna do Throttle body bypass and Delphi 85mm Catback exhaust and maybe 373 gears before I go back to the track. Iam gona do gears but I dont now if iam gonna do them before I go to the track.. What do you think it should run with the mods I have done.I gotta find a Catback exhaust exhaust...

Your mph is kinda low. What was the weather like when you ran? I was running consistent 8.4's @ 86.x mph when I had only SLP CAI & MAF with no muffler. However, you have an automatic, that could be the difference. Plenty of potential there. My 60's were the same as yours, low 2.0x.

The weather wasnt that great and I have an auto with 273 gears. I have a little new best 1.990 60ft 8.70@83.84. I just put on SLP Y/SLP Loudmouth 1. people say the stock exhaust restics are cars alot. I can tell a big differances now with the Y pipe and Loudmouth 1 on it now. I havent took it to the track yet.. Iam not taking it till next year. Iam in the prosess in getting 342/373 gears installed..That should get my MPH higher and lower my ET.. I wounder how much just the Y/Loudmouth 1 would pick me up. in ET and MPH.
My buddy had a auto LS1 with 373 gears, Catback exhaust,K&N with the computer tuned for the 373s He was runing 8.4s cant remember MPH thought..

Ya Iam gonna go 373s and later down the road Iam gonna do 3500-3600 Stall and LT's and ORY. My check engine light came on today. I went to advance auto parts and the code was bank 2 Knock sensor. This is the 2nd time it has came on for this reason. Its still under warrenty. The guy at the place said if the light comes back on bring it in and we will fix it and give you a rental..

Do get yourself a convertor and sticky tires, you'll be amazed. I've seen convertors knock .5 off.Last edited by cuzimoto; 10-31-2009 at 07:55 PM. Reason: reply

I was gonna go with a 3500-3600 Vig/Yank.. I now I should get a tuner to tune my car. But I think a hand held would do me for my gears/160 for now. Then when I do a Stall/LT's,ORY then get it tuned by Frost...

Sounds like you got a good game plan. I've never used a hand held though. I had the Yank SS3600 at one point. I liked it, not sure how it compares with a vig though.
Look into the "stall torque ratio" (STR) it's a very important stat to look at with a stall, not just the stall speed.
Some people just do LTs and open y-pipe...not sure if thats your thing or not, it's kind of loud and I'm not sure what you are looking for or if emissions is an issue in Virginia.

Ok I will look in to the STR. I like the sound of LTs ad open Y. The county I live does have emissions But I have away around it. Do you think I will be in the ball park what I want to run with stock internals Without a stall and longtubes.
How much do you think The Y pipe and Loudmouth 1 helped me in power and at the track..Last edited by EVIL-LS1; 11-01-2009 at 01:47 PM.
