TransamTom Viper Slayer
Well I finally got a few 1/4 mile passes in the TA tonight.

1999 TA A4 346ci LS1 W/ Bolt ons plus 3600 Stall 275/40/17 MT DR's race weight with driver 3870.
This is the pass I beat a Viper on tonight, I never got a chance to talk to him he left right after that it looked to be a newer coupe.
Me RT .085 60ft 1.827.. 330ft 5.242 1/8th 8.072 at 87.09... 1000ft 10.527 1/4 12.608 at 108.51

Next time up I was humbled by a GTR  BTW the GTR driver was a real cool guy we talked in the staging lanes.

2001 3.8 Black - sold- 2000 SS Black M6
yeah you got off the line .6 faster, but finished .2 slower....he ran the quarter in less time and had 14 mph on you trap speed.
If that track had been a few hundred feet longer he would have walked by you, lol

Trust me no one at the track was more suprised than me to get the win light,I was waiting for the charge at 1000 ft from him.
Its a lucky win for me.
On the street he would bitch slap me, but at the track its all about the driver and he wasn't as skilled as his car was good.

Silver & Blue- 02 Camaro SS, 04 GTO
I drove a 2006 Viper and I can tell you that they are a handfull to get the power to the pavement. Your tires go up in smoke on launch, hit second at 6500 rpm and your car goes sideways, backoff, hit third and you lose traction again then you go through the traps with more gray hair then when you started. It must be a rear suspension issue because with 335 meats out back you would think it would hook but they don't. The ride I had should do high 11's, I pulled a 13.7 @ 91mph. Nuff said.
My ride is a 2002 Camaro SS SLP #3296 with 30k, LTH, 3" Y, CME, Frost tune, K&N, ported TB, Blackwing lid, Bellows, MSD, Denso Iridium, and 85mm MAF, Bilsteins, Eibach springs, SLP strut brace, Adj. Panhard, TA Girdle, UMI, Pro 5.0, Nitto NT555
My wife has a 2004 GTO with the rare SAP, 18" wheels, K&N Cold Air System, MSD, Ported TB, Frost tune, Denso Iridium, Flowmaster cat-back, 3200 Yank, 75k

Low profile tires suck for hooking in a straight line, couple that with the fact the suspension is stiff as hell and primarily designed to go around corners. A car like that just isn't all that spectacular on the drag strip.
122 mph shows it has some HP, and that trap speed should be running about 11 flat or high 10's if the rest of the car is setup properly to exploit it, then you need a driver who can.
Just goes to show when you have a car like Tom's that will 60 foot well, they are hard to catch in the next 1260 feet, even if the other car have a big end charge. Sleeping at the light on top of that killed any chance he might have had to catch Tom.
I did the same thing in my 4x4 blazer against a brand new SS camaro Talk about mismatched
Tom got a well deserved win. Viper guy needs to lick his wounds and come back better prepared.

Nuttin' wrong with a 12 bolt, I use a few of them and have one in a 4th gen behind a 6-speed.

I hear the torque arm mount isn't as beefy on the 12 bolts and you need to trim mounting point on the aftermarket arms.
