Launching on ice???

[Hot Black Trans-Am]

Any tips for launching a M6 on ice with drywall screw studded tires? I haven't done it yet. It's a 1/8 mile track on a lake. Any other tips from anyone that has raced on ice?

One of my friends set a stock car studded tire record with a 05 GTO that he wants to run me with. I'm worried about putting the tires on my car! Not the ones I'm going to use but very similar.

I don't have drywall studded tires, but I have regular steel studded tires and all our roads are ice/snow covered for the most part right now (Alaska), I recommend just easing into it from idle and the give it 3/4 throttle. My car will just spin if I gun it at all from a stop. Just from my experience, your tires might dig into the ice better though.

You guys just want a video of me blowing up the rear! I'm still on the stocker and am not ready to replace it yet. I really hope the ice would break before the rear though!

heres my 2 cents. take the 75 chevy 4x4 and put it in 4hi, and launch that thing. put the t/a away dont risk it

I'll give the 6K clutch dump a try. It's stock motor so the stock clutch should hold. I guess I'll find out.

The truck isn't back in running order as of yet. Still under construction. Hopefully it'll be ready to run next winter.

Some do! There's a few people running rails up there. 130 - 140 mph on ice in the 1/8.

OMG thats insane..haha some ppl fish on ice....crazy fuckers from WI race on it ...yeah i noticed minus 40 in international falls yest..set a record....my god that is fucking cold!!! what kinda things happen when its that cold? ive heard that u can hear the sap in maple trees freezing and snapping branches ..just rumors ive heard from ppl that have been to the aderonadacks in the winter

I'll have winter tires up front, but most people run regular all seasons or some crazies will run the drag skinnies.
