    Launching a 2002 Z-28

    I have a 2002 Z-28 with an auto.
    What has worked best for some of you leaving the line? Do you take the RPMs up or launch on idle?
    Also manualy shifting or letting the car go on its own?
    I will be running drag radials so I should hook just fine.

    I leave from an idle. I let the computer do the shifting, much more consistant.
    Drag racing...just another numbers game.

    foot brake it with the rpms up a little and you wil get better times

    I have never gotten better times from stalling up the converter. Just mash the gas when you see green. Oh and i do assume you have an auto. Quick tip' GET A STALL, you loose no highway mileage and it is easier on your tranny!!!! If you race the car alot and want the best times, then get one. I cannot stress this more. Ask anyone who has one, they will tell ya it is more than the best mod for an ls1 f-body especially if you have sticky tires.
