    launching

I'm trying to improve my launch. I've got 340 to the wheels, and street tires on my m6. What's a good rpm to launch at with an c5 z06 clutch? my tires are continental conti extreme contacts. What are some good launching methods? feathering? dropping?

One thing i've leaned is not to drop it. Not sure exactly what RPM to start at because that usually depends on the tires and conditions. I wouldn't start too high and after takeoff slip the clutch a little while slowly getting into the throttle. All i know to say

Agree with tater. I would start at around 2K. I found that when I was stock running stock tires my best launch was around 2500RPM and feathering out the clutch. You can basically go to the track and start off low and just keep raising it each pass to see what works best for your current set-up.

What I do know is you won't be able to drop the clutch. You can't even do that with DR's.

What is your current 60' time?

Feathering seems to work the best. I run at orlando speed world and the track is sticky as hell. I can drop the clutch at almost 3,000rpm's and end up bogging on street tires

I wish I could've launched at 3K in my M6. About 2K was all I could get and dump the clutch and get any kind of traction.

Your engine does not have enough power at lower RPMs to just dump the clutch. This is why you bog.

Just do what I suggested. Start at a lower RPM and work your way up. Get your track slips and see which launch gives you the best 60'

I usually started around 2800-3k and slip the clutch on street tires, the rpms usually get down to the mid 2ks let the clutch pedal out while rolling on the throttle. I got into the 1.9s 60ft with my street tires a couple of times with this method. My chart at that time said 35X to the wheels.
