Launch Procedures?
I have a 2000 Z28 6sp with bolt-ons and free mods. Clutch and remaining drive train are stock. What is the general procedure (real basic) for take-off at the track. I have never raced this car. New 17" Raptor street tires and no mods to frame.

First off, get sub-frame connectors if you want to start racing. I am repeating myself to what I have said this on another thread, btw thats what you should do is read some of the others, they are informational, So hear it goes.. go around/avoid the water, because on street tires, you'll still have water deep in the tread that didnt make contact, will start dripping down while you stage, and then loose traction, see that all the time and burns my ass!! So many times, guys with street tires in the burnout box and then race, then they wonder why they spin!! Anyhow rev it up and pop the clutch and quick stand on the gas and brakes and do a three second burnout, then stage. rev it to about 2 grand, when you see the third yellow, start to take off, by riding the clutch for a milisecond or so. You shouldnt redlight if you do it right, Shifts shoould be around 6,100 or so for what you have.. Let us know how you do.
