How fast? with new mods?
I want to know how fast will I go before i go to the track this weekend and not be dissapointed. My car is a 98 Z28 which i ran last month and it ran 8.7 81mph at the 1/8 mile, since then I added pacesetter race headers, and a ls6 intake and a better ported throttle body and a good tune, and was wondering what should i run now, I'm realling hoping 8.3 or better

It depends. Were you running 8.70 or 8.79. If you were running 8.70, I think you should expect 8.50s, if in the high .70s then I'd say high .50s. You may have a problem hooking up, the weather could be different, track not as good or better. I'd expect the 8.50's and be really happy if it went faster. The tune my of helped you more than anything. Was it tuned before the mods? What type of tire do you have? If you want something that will pick you up more than any one thing, get a higher stall converter, say a 3600 or around that area. That should put you in the 7.70 range. Most of all, have fun, and be happy that your car is already that fast. Gunny

My son, 01_Ram-Air has a 2001 WS6, with headers/exhaust, CAI or lid?, a new TQ arm (the old one broke), a Yank 4000 stall, and a tune. He runs 7.70s in the 1/8 and 12.1's in the 1/4. Other than the list above, his car is stock. With a 125 shot, he runs 11.20 in the 1/4, I can't remember the 1/8. Go to www.need2speed.com and you can see some pictures of him with the front wheels off the ground on launch. No reason you can't do the same. Good luck

Well i went to the track yesterday and before my gf crashed my car yesterday I an a best 8.6 at 85mph so basically after I swapped my headers and intake with tune I only gained a tenth but also gained 4 mph. So what do yall think my car is capable at the 1/4 mile, and those runs were done with bad traction

I hope your gf didn't tear up your car too bad. I see with that little extra HP you spun more. If you run 8.60, you should run 13.42 in 1/4. Go to http://www.centralfloridastreetcars....conversion.htm. Another way to approx. the 1/4 is take your 1/8 x 1.55. 8.60 x 1.55 = 13.33 You should be somewhere close to those times. Picking up 4 mph shows you picked up quite a few HP. If you could get traction you should be in the .50s.
