    How to drag race a A4 ?

stuiped question but i felt like i needed to ask it lol ... would it be better to manual shift my a4*460le* (98 z28 with bolt ons) or put it in drive and let it shift itself ? also is it better to race in Drive with overdrive or drive ? the reason i ask is i want to cut down my times alittle bit, every little bit counts ? lol

Not if your going to drag race!! Especially if you plan on putting some real power down eventually. 6 speeds are alot harder on drivetran components. So nothing wrong with an A4.

I have always left my auto cars in drive (if 3 speed) and in overdrive (if 4 speed auto)

I tune the shift points via computer if computer controlled,,,,or the governor (non computer).

Works just fine once you figure out where the motor wants to be. Much more consistent too. If you find your car going faster because you are shifting it,,,,it just means your shift points aren't optimized in the tune/governor and needs to be adjusted accordingly.

No real reason to shift an auto manually unless you run a manual valve body,,,,use the automatic for what it's designed for.
