SOM- 2002 SS
Heading to the track tomorrow any guesses?? !!
Basically stock 01 Z-28 hardtop no options except monsoon stereo. 6 speed. 194k km.
Just picked her up 3 weeks or so ago and did some mods....
K&N
Free ram air mod
Oil change !
New Tr6 iridium plugs
Suspension mods are kybs and eibach sportlines. wheels are 275/38/18.
Just wondering if anyone has any guesses or times/mph on what a basically stock Z should run? I am in toronto, canada.
I don't plan on powershifting 2nd or hitting it hard at all I dont want to get towed home. I also don't care for e.t so I wont be trying to launch super hard etc in fear of the clutch already being near its end.
I'm hoping for 105+ mph.

You don't need to dump the clutch to get good times. You can get anywhere from high 12's to 13's depending on how you can drive. Auto's are great it takes all the inconsistency out of racing.

13.6-13.9? The lowering springs and 18" wheels are going to kill you.

SOM- 2002 SS
In my brothers 97 ss when new slammed with sportlines and 18 inch ozs went 14.00 @ 99.9 consistently. I was hoping to better that but it might not happen tonight I think I'm going to go to work. had the windows tinted and i'm bummed out cuz it looks too dark for my taste. Track i was going to go to was cayuga. it's nice and chilly here tonight was supposed to be around 10' degrees celcius. maybe next friday.

B2300 (Fluffy) Retired- Plain-Jane Dodge Truck
14.1 @ 103 mph.
And I wouldn't consider an oil change or new spark plugs to be "mods".

SOM- 2002 SS
Well as I mentioned above I didnt end up going as I went to work. I guess I just wasn't sick enough The window tint is growing on me I almost peeled it off right after work but its not so bad. I'll leave it on till i can clean the car up and really have a hard look before I crumple up $300 off my windows.
I'll be heading there this friday I think. I drove it hard home from work and she seems to pull well. it's hard to get used to a stock motor after being used to ripping 8000 rpm shifts with a 480 rwhp stroker in my vette. But from what I can remember it pulls harder than my brothers 97 ss did.
If it's cool this friday night I'm going to guess 13.6 @ 105 but wishful thinking will have it at 13.3s @ 107 cya friday !
