That's Katech's Maro. I saw that car run on American Musclecar on Speed last summer. That Maro is fixed to kill.

Thats interesting and all,,,but I can't believe there is even a market for an 18 inch drag radial???

That wheel/tire package has got to be getting heavy. Any idea on how much more unsprung weight that will be????

I was thinking the same thing. For those prices you could buy a spare set of rims and DRs.

I didn't look at the prices but you are probably right.

With that much rim diameter you would have to run a pretty tall tire to get any sidewall out of that.

I run a 28 inch tall drag radial, but on a 15 inch rim. Plenty of sidewall with wrinkle type launches.

Some of us actually have BIG brakes Larry. When you have a 13"-14" rotor you can't run 15"s.

Ya I guess I have to admit I was never one who got into the whole "Big Brake" bandwagon.

Still though now you are talking about a ton of unsprung weight,,,,big brakes to go along with those big wheels????

Here ya go, a a shot of dads car right off the trailer with a fresh motor at the tripower nats. 3900 lbs. with a MT drag radial on stock wheels. Nothing but no hop bars and 90/10 shocks running 1.51 60 foot times with a 3.73 gear.
Ran 11.70 right off the trailer then later was told to park it after we tweaked a couple things and ran 11.32 Just a little pump gas 455 that made 603 hp. All motor. Now he is thinking about the bottle too

28" tall? Guess that is necessary to get some sidewall with those 18" wheels.

    Gonna need more gear .

SON OF A BITCH...i knew i shoulda went with 18s...i could get them for my 17s though I see...325/40/17. Shit i'll have to buy an 11" rim

You got some time slips LS2Tuner? I'd like to know what '60 ft i could get on my stock suspension...I got 315 555R's now. I'm sure they'd be an improvement...dunno how much though...I wonder if it'd be worth the swap? I could get new rims and sell these ones...hmmm

Thanks, I built that motor for him, pretty mild with Kaufman heads and a custom hydraulic roller. Nothing fancy really.
Shucks I can't wait for ya to get your butt back out here, I'm about ready to put a big shot on the chevelle. I've already purchased the 3.73 gears for it,,,stepping down from the 4.10's to get it ready. As well as a Victor Jr. ready to go on.

Here's a shot of it resting to give ya an idea how violent that thing leaves.

The hood is popped in this one, it just came off the chassis dyno and we were tweaking it a bit.

Anyone know if these 325s would fit ok? Or lots of BFH? Also, would I need an 11" rim or would a 10.5" work ok?
