    Completely stock

I ran my car for the first tiem I have a 99 Trans Am stock except a Flowmaster cat back it ran 13.84 at 101.8mph and it was very humid that night.oh it's an an a4 The guys were saying they were running .5sec slow that night compared to the week befor could I really run 13.4 sec stock?

Is that normal and it seems to spark knock or ping at about 70mph or right around when it shifts. I never had a tune but I'm trying to get the money to get gears and a lid or a intake then a mail order from Frost. It seems to be the economical way and the way to go for the seat or your pants pull and giving shit to a Corvette 98 maybe too

It took me 105MPH with 273 gears to get 13.45 with a 2.07 sixty foot. Only mods I had were LID, Ported TH, cat-back, and the Free Mods (Cut EGR tube, Removed MAF screen, TB coolant by-pass, etc..) Me and car weighed 3,835lbs.

I'll look at the free mods and I'm 195lbs so should be close in weight. Man I can't believe we can run that fast stock

My 1998 TA with 2.73 gears, AT, went a best of 13.65 @ 102.95. I had a lid, WS6 hood and upper airbox. I shifted it myself and it would shift just at/before the 6200 RPM rev limiter. Usually that car ran 13.9x-14.0x @ 99-100.x. Now the current car, before any mods I was running 13.50s @ 104-105, my best since longtubes, ORY, muffler has been a 12.89 @ 109.85, usually runs 13.10-20 @ 107s with this heat. I am happy with the fast times also, especially with the 27-28 highway MPG. If I could stay in the 12s on the hot days, or keep over 110 MPH, and keep my MPG, thats all I want. I'm thinking I could be there if I got an LS6 intake and a tune. I won't use slicks to get there either.

    SHIFTED Yourself

What do you mean by shifting yourself you actually took of in 1st and manually shifted the tranny in second ans then 3rd manually? Does it shift on it's own if you forget I can just see myself bouncing on the rev limiter lol We have the last of the real feel muscle car and I freaking love it but I have the bug to modify just need the cash and the WAF(wife acceptance factor). I run slower times with my 3:23 gears than most of you with 2:73's and my reaction time was .58 and the best is .50 so not awful not great but not awful so that would bring me to 13.76 so I need to go on a cool night to try it to see if I can gain any mph and time

Yes, I would start in first manually. This way I could get an extra 300-500RPM before the car would shift. I can't remember if it would still override my desire at or near the RPM limiter the PCM has built in.

Your reaction time does not affect the ET, remember, that time is only for eliminations. For time trials it is just a referernce point so you can be better prepared for eliminations, when you post your expected speed on the car.

And yes, the cool night will help a lot. As for the WAF, I fight that myself sometimes!

That sounds about right. My 02 SS convertable automatic ran 13.70 at 102 mph when bone stock. It was a rather warm day as well.
A simple tune that I worked on and flashed in later that day got me 13.40's at 104 mph, and it was a little warmer outside at that point.

    1998 Trans Am

I ran 13.89 at 100.xxmph on a 95 degree day with high humidity. I have a bone stock 98 Trans Am minus a shift kit. I let the trans its self since itll hold right out to 6,000 rpm. Im doing a full exhaust with Hooker Headers, catless y-pipe, SLP loudmouths and a 75 dry shot off an Eclipse, and SLP Lid. I hope that this drops into the low 13's-high 12's. It also has the 3.23 gearing.

What elevation are u guys at????? When I ran my z28 with the little mods I have it wa running 13.0 @ 107-108.... Went back when it was hot, and ran consistant 13.2 @ 106-107... 13.9 to 14.0's for a ls1 is usually not a normal thing(around here) I usually see(stock) in the 13.4 to 13-6 @ 103 to 105 range... Any thoughts?

Not sure if your track in Oregon is up in the mountains or not??? If you are closer to sea level and near the ocean with cool conditions,,,you will see faster times.

The DA changes hourly and needs to be figured into any dragstrip pass not only for tuning purposes,,,but also to compare other ET's honestly. So looking at ET's here will throw you for a loop without DA numbers to compare conditions.

The track I ran at in Ohio was about 700 feet above sea level,,,but the weather was always hot and humid,,,I never got to run there with a DA any lower than 3000 feet. It was more common for it to be 3500 feet and above. When the DA would have been ideal,,,the track was closed because it was too cold and snowing

On a 65-70 degree day i went a 12.8 @110mph m6 with headers, catback and a lid. The car was also lowered and i had a short shifter. Street tires

Never got to run it that way again after i got it tuned, but it def felt faster so i would guess 12.6-12.7 at 111-112mph in the same conditions. Dynoed 357whp/361wtrq on a dynojet

With a DA in the 800' range, bone stock through the paper filter, and anot a very clean one, I ran 13.6-13.7 at 103. My car is an 02 Z28 A4 2.73.

I put a lid on and a KN filter and ran 13.4 at 105 with the DA at 700'.

I came back a week later and ran 13.2-13.3 with the addition of a Magnaflow catback and a Diablosport Predator tune. I was now in the 106-107 range and the DA was between 600-800'.

I then got some Nitto DR's and over a period of 3 weeks managed to run a 13.006, 13.008, 13.003, 13.005, 13.009 and a 13.001. Da was around the same 600-800'. I'm at sea level but we get bad humidity here in Orlando. A cool day is 65 degrees.

I then found out that I need to put more heat into the tires and with good solid burnouts was able to drop my 60' times from 1.98's to 1.84 and ran a 12.79 at 108. DA was 400' too, so that helped a little bit.

It consistantly runs 13.1 in 85-95 degree heat with humidity that matches the temp. DA's of 2000'-2200'.

I'm switching from the 2.73 stock gears to a 3.42 gear on Wednesday and will be at the track on July 29th. I'm hoping to get into the 12's with the lousy weather we have here in the summer.

This is my 3rd LS1 and they all ran just about the same. My Pewter 02 was the quickest running 13.0-13.2 without the tune and on street tires.

it's a pretty good run! and the speeds indicate it's either stock or very close--- the launch was impressive and the diff didn't grenade...

we only have a 1000 ft track here but my 99 ws6 ran a 10.94 @ 95 with just the free mods, this should be around 13.0-13.2 in the 1/4. even when it was hot I still run 11.1. people get upset at the track when i tell them she's stock, beat an 07 gt with full exhaust and cai. his best of the night was 11.4

That is fun to do, eh? Watch 'em get upset when you tell them how close to stock it is!
