    6mt Or At For Race?

    Hey Guys I Have A 99 Z-28 Auto As A Daily Driver But Im Looking To Buy Another One For A Drag Car. Just Looking For Advice On Which Is A Better For The Strip, A 6 Speed Manual Or An Auto

    I Would Need To Put A Shift Kit In It To Wouldnt I? Not Just A Converter, Or Do The Stock A4's Hold Up Pretty Good A Under Racing Conditions

    yes a shift kit would help along with the convertor and a trans cooler. And NO the stock A4 does not hold up very good under racing conditions. If you plan on taking it to the strip regularly you should plan a better trans into your budget.

    Much more consistent, and the launches with a properly set-up auto can't touch most M6 cars.

    Unless you just prefer 6sp and are a really good driver, the auto is the way to go for daily driving and the drag strip. We have several late model SS's with minimal mods such as converter, CAI, headers, and tune running 7.7 in the 1/8. Good luck.
