Black- BLK TA modded 12.2@113mph
13.21 at 104.7 mph
I expected a little better time but sitting besides my buddies car today I realized that my tires are approx 1 1/4 inch taller than his he has 3:23's,I have 3:42's same car same exhaust and mods. My car dynoed at 318.54 his a 303hp on the same dyno I have a Yank SS3200 that he doesn't have and we run exactly the same times but his mph is 105.8 and mine is 104.7 mph My 60 foot is better mine 1.96 his 2.1 approx. The only difference I can see is the tire height My question is 1 inch or more in tire height would it make that much difference I couldn't beleive that we were side by side all the way all day that's 15 passes all between 13.2 and 13.3 very consistently
Thanks for the helpLast edited by Durango; 09-03-2011 at 05:47 PM.

Very humid we had to wait an hour for the track to dry up after the rain and about 75 degree's f or 24 degrees celcius I think the tire height screwed up my gear ratio by a lot I'm thinking it has a 12.9 or a 12.8 in there at 107 or 108mph I will soon find out at 320rwhp and an ss3200 converter it has too with a 1.9 60 foot I think anyway

Do you have it tuned for the converter?

Yes I do I got it tuned by Frost that tune was 311rwhp then I did a dyno tune it came out a 318.54 rwhp I wonder what the shift point table looks like for the 3:42 geras up shift and down shift It would be great to compare

Oh I checked 1.96 60 foot 83.6mph at 660ft and 104.7 at the 1/4 my tires are 295/35/18 so I'm going to try the stock 16" size in a drag radial next to see what it does

I can't get my rpm's up more than 2000rpm so I will try drag radials next My buddy has some 245/.50/16 If I can launch at 2500rpm or more that would be great and 12.8 or 12.9 would be sweet a 1.8 would be sweeter that must feel nice to get pushed back even harder in the seat!!! Hey my car comes from Niagara Falls area St Catherines to be exact!

It's all in that 60ft...... put the car on drag radials and watch what happens.

Gratz on the time. Jeff asked about the weather aka what was the DA that day. For the most part I can tell what I will run based off the DA. Here is the DA calculator I use Density Altitude Calculator - English/Metric. The LS1 really comes alive in cool weather.

Yes it wasn't a very good day for drag racing Last night I took my car out and it was very cold like 10 degree's or 52 f approx. and the seat of the pants power was noticeably different!!! I have drag radials lined up and we are going to race Oct 7th hopefully I will see a 12.99 in my future :-) If I can launch at 2600rpm that might work
What do you guys think I can foot brake my car with an SS3200 with 320rwhp?????

That's something you'll have to experiment with. Every converter is different in how they act, drive, flash, etc...Most cars with converters (if setup to hook) will respond better with very little footbraking and flashing the converter. It hits harder.
With street tires you'll have to finess your way off the starting line with practice and feel.
I ran 12.70's with mine on stock rubber with a 3400 stall, and the track surface wasn't all that great. I found barely off idle worked best while rolling into the throttle as quickly as traction would allow. A little extra weight in the trunk helped a bit
I only had headers and a tune in the car. You'll hit 12's easily enough with a converter in there with a little driving practice.

Yep,I installed the headers and intake in my friends single car garage, did the free mods and mild weight reduction(rearseats/belts and spare)
Frost tune.
I am doing the TC next, a Yank 3600 will be going in over the winter in his single car garage.
I did my TC in my 94 TA on my back with a friend, the hard part is bench pressing the tranny while your friend pushes it into place

Thanks I haven't tried it that way my 3200 is too small if i remember right you told me so to lolll a 3600 would of been nicer and I will try that next for sure and I now have et street by Mickey Thomson should help with traction also just installed a new servo by Fairbanks I like that piece nicer firmer shifts

what elevation is your track at? Like firebirdjones said.....try some different types of launches. You should be down in the 12's just the way it sits. At the end of the day though that 1.9 60ft is hurting you. I still think you should be a little faster than you are even on street tires.
