    12's own my ass

    ...At least for now!!!

Went to the track last Friday night and ran a new best, but also ran some shitty times as well...Track prep pretty much ceased to exist, and even some guys on slicks were having trouble hooking, and even spinning off the line!!!

Ran 7 times, and didn't feel like I was on top of my game (like I have any lol ) at all. I also just had the PCM tuned by Frost and still have bad 02 sensors, so car was running VERY inconsistant all night due to my dumbassness.

    New Personal Best of:
    r/t... .256
    60'... 2.149
    330'... 5.723
    1/8... 8.585
    mph... 86.76
    1000'... 11.024
    1/4... 13.077
    mph... 110.35

And 12's have pwnd me once again!

Some small highlights were having a horrible start and being about 3/4 car behind a stang and then walking his ass and winning by .2 on my most horrible run ever (13.790 @ 108.19 > Stang with 13.943 @ 102.04). Red lighted a -.015. And cutting a .128 r/t and being pretty psyched until the Fox Body next to me wheelied right past me!!! Had a good time.

Well, it sounds like you had fun though, get your traction figured out and 12's are right around the corner.

Just wait until it cools down. You'll get 12's easy.

Yep, it was a good time, but traction on street tires isn't easy.

Sad thing is, it was about 65 degrees that night, and very cool air, just that the track prep wasn't great

Oh, well in that case i'll rephrase my statement. Just wait until you have better track prep. You'll get 12's easy.

Yeah, prep at this track is kinda kit or miss...I did however launch VERY hard on my last run after they spent 1/2 hour cleaning up an oil down, but still didnt run very well. I still need to do some work on my driver mod.

110 MPH trap speed says it all. Don't worry about the ET,,,thats an easy mid 12 second car with a good 60 foot.

My calculations with a high 1.9 or low 2.0 60ft, should run about 12.7x @106 or so...??? I think that's pretty close. And I build my tranny I wont have to pussy foot it anymore!

Friends cousin with a nasty fox body (races almost every weekend) asked me what my car ran, and when he heard the trap speed he said the same thing...12's with a good 60'. I know it doesn't "really" matter, but it's still something I wanna accomplish ASAP!!!

I'm also running around on shitty 02's with a tune, so i'm sure that doesnt help lol.

Ya,,,,a 1.9 60 foot is easy to accomplish with a stockish street car,,,but with a few tweaks a 1.7 isn't hard at all.

For comparison sake,,,my father GTO when running his old motor a couple years ago was good for 12.02 at 110 mph,,,running 1.65 60 foot times. With a little more 60 foot (and the car had it in it) it actually dipped into the high 11's. In stock class NHRA racing you can watch cars dip into the high 12's all the time and only trap 102 mph,,,lol.

Yea, but aren't a lot of those guys capable of much faster et's, they just sandbag and dial in their times?

Naaa, 102 mph is just about right for a high 12 second car if you have a drivetrain and suspension that is fully capable.

The cars in these classes are not power houses,,,,they just use everything they have very efficiently.

Gotcha. I hate seeing events where they run throttle stops. Seems almost pointless to me, but that's just my opinion lol. I'd love to have a consistently high 12 second car, but from a roll you can damn sure tell it'll move!!! Just a mattter of time and $$$

If you trap 110 mph and can't run a 12, you need to learn how to drive.

Good one These times are on BALD street tires with non exhistant track prep, so go boast somewhere else. Getting off the starting line without spinning like crazy is my problem, not the actualy driving of the car.

This is coming from a guy with an autmatic!!!! That's a good one!!! AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
