will this wheel/tire setup work?

2000 pontiac firebird t/a ws6

wheels: Sport Muscle Z06 wheels
18x8.5 (all 4)
6.92" backspacing
56mm offset


tire size: 245/40/18?
i am looking at yokohama AVIDs. i have read that i need to pay close attention to the TREAD WIDTH. the yoko's have a tread width of about 8.6" which is not too bad for me.

before i pull the trigger, is this a decent setup. should i run into any issues?

245/40/18 are about the same outside diamater as factory 275/40/17 and about an inch narrower so shouldnt have any width issues. Tread width on the 275/40/17's are about 9.5" give or take .5" depending on brand.

I'm not sure on the backspacing and offset personally.

18x8.5 is skinner then stock wheels for WS6s so i'm not sure why you'd wanna go skinnier. look at oewheelsllc.com. they have some nice selections to choose from in some better sizes.

To answer your question they should work but like others pointed out it's narrower than factory ws6 wheels.
