    Will these fit?

Will a Nitto DR (555r) 315/35/17 fit a 17x9 wheel? Reason I ask is I know nittos run a lil thinner, and are really like a 285/295.

if you want 315s, get 11" wide wheels... not safe nor recommended on a 9" wide wheel. Plus, you'll get no gain whatsoever... a 275/40-17 of same tire will perform better than the 315/35-17 on a 17x9 rim.
275/40-17 are meant to be mounted on wheels that are 17x9 to 17x11
315/35-17 are meant to be mounted on wheels that are 17x11 to 17x13

    putting a 315 on a 9" wheel is plain "stupid/redneck" (no offense)
one wants the tire to be properly mounted on the rim.

Well reason why I ask is I picked up some 315/35/17s Nitto 555s for $100 with 50-60% tread left (couldnt pass it up). And I am running 17x9 rebels, I've heard that a 315 *NITTO* will fit because the nittos run thin, and are more comparable to a 275 size.
