    will a 315/35-40/17 nitto fit a 9.5" rim?

I ask because I hear the 315mm nitto 555r is a lot skinnier than most 315 tires.

Squeezing a 315 on a 9.5" wheel actually can lower the amount of tread on the pavement. It bows in order to fit onto the wheel.

    it'll mount, but not properly.
you get better traction and wear is you put a 275 on that wheel.

I suppose I'll go with the 275/40/17 then. If I need a bigger tire, i'll have to get bigger rims

isn't there a higher risk of the tire blowing out because there is too much tire being sucked in by the skinny wheel?

Ive always heard it is a bad idea.

my buddy got his stock rears widened to 11'' to fit 315s.. may want to look into that if you dont want to spend the cash for new wheels

i think it was a couple hundred bucks a wheel.

Still probably cheaper than buying 4 new wheels to get a new set with 11'' rears.
Personally I would just buy diff wheels but it does look cool to roll on "stock" 11'' rear wheels!
