I would check with the company that is doing the work. I don't think you can just split and widen a rim without changing the backspacing. They should know what to do when they widen the rim.

I was told by weldcraft wheels that the amount you widen a wheel changes the back spacing by that much.

So I should find a place that will widen rim first before I purchase wheel? I believe the dish is 3" well the lip is, thanks for the input.

Owning a 9 sec ricer is like coming out of the closest: at first you'll surprise everyone, but in the end you're still gay

For the cost of buying those wheels and having them widened i'd seriously consider trying too find a nice set of wheels that are the width you want. Not a bad looking wheel, but once you start spending money to ship them out and have them widened you could probably pick up nicer wheel imo. If you do decide to get them widened, i'd go with weldcraft. Heard nothing but good things about them.

This is a good point. I bet shipping wheels alone is very expensive.

After shipping back and forth and widening you'll be pretty high in price. I'd be on the lookout for some lightly used fm10s, you won't regret it.

I have the same challenge. My current wheels are only made in 18 x 9, but I need to widen them to 10.5 to gain better traction. The current 9" wheel only allows me to run 275's all around. I do not want to tub the wheel wells. Is anyone running 18 x 10.5 in the rears? Looking to run 305 drag radials for the strip & 315's for the street. Any guidance is appreciated.

I have 20x10 in the rears with no issues. I have a couple of inches to spare also.
