    Who runs Nitto's???

Do you think it's a bad idea if you have a stock rear-end??

I won't be stupid and launch over 2k... still a bad idea??

I launched on Nitto DR's with the stock 10 bolt from 4800RPM.
    It made it.

Tires are shitty at the track though unless you are sporting an automatic car.

I used to run Nittos on my old WS.6. Bolt on car with 4:10's. Didn't hook for shit and I still kept breaking ring gears. They are fine if you have the stock gears but the teeth on the ring gear are too damn small on 4:10's for anything near sticky tires in an M6 car. After I put in a McLeod clutch I broke the gears on my first pass and that was only cutting 1.90 60's at best. That is why I am running 3.42's in my Formy and will do so until I can upgrade to a 12 bolt or 9 inch. But if you have stock gears they should be fine and should cut your 1/4 times by a bit.

I ran them for 3 years until I got my 12 bolt and my 10 bolt survived many 4-5K launches... I am currently running them on my Mustang too.

compound and tread design.....if you look at them side by side the 555 has a lot more rain grooves than the R. I've ran the r's on mine for years now..... I damn near lost it in the rain one time just tooling down the road at 55mph. Wasn't doing anything fancy. Just driving along and the backend went out from under me. Since then I do not drive my car if there's even a chance of rain. I drove on nitto's for 2-3 years with zero issues but that one time was enough to keep it garaged if there's even a chance of rain. I know a lot of people that drive theirs in the rain with no problems, not sure if I just hit water puddled in the road or what it was but it convinced me.

I broke my gears in pieces with my 01SS 6speed with the stock tires and Nitto Drag radials so i couldnt tell you for sure other then when i snapped the gears with the drags it was going from 2-3rd gear shift (powershifting) after that i heard rattles out back and new i done it again, lol. With the stock tires i was breaking them mostly going from 1-2 shifts or off the line. If you do go with gears id stay away from powershifting all together.

Well with a tire that wide with not many water channels, i'm sure it's not too hard to hydro plane
