    wheel size and gas mileage?

I'm about to put 18 and 19 inch wheels on my car, how will they effect my gas mileage compared to my 17s?

i dont think itll make much difference, as long as you get em balanced and aligned. aftermarket wheels can really throw off your alignment

Uhmm, NO. You should still get an alignment.

wider tires can make worse mpg. why a prius uses rubber bands for tires.

the friction does almost nothing to it... its more the rotational inertia that has to do w/ it.

Also don't forget about the total outer diameter of your tires from stock to these new 'vette wheels! There is a tire size calculator on this site, make sure you get compatable tire sizes for your new rims. If anything, wider tires will reduce fuel economy because they produce more friction and rolling resistance (275, 295, 315 vs 255, etc.).

I'm just going with the same size tires that the rims came with from the factory. 285's in the back and 245's in the front. I weighed the back 19" rim, and it only weighs 25 pounds without any tires on it. only 3 pounds more than my stock 10 spokes. I'm guessing the front ones will be around 22. haven't weighed them yet.

In that case I really don't see a reason for your MPG to suffer much at all.
