what 15" racing wheel will fit?

running a 15" wheel in the back of the fbody

    15" x 7" w/4.5" backspacing
    15" x 8" w/5.5" backspacing
    15" x 10" w/7.5" backspacing

it will require a large amount of grinding of the rear calipers to clear the wheel. here's pics of what i had to do to mine. scroll to the bottom.
    http://www.stealthram.com/wheels.htm

one thing to remember, if you do your grinding with half worn brake pads, when it comes time to replace them, the wheels may hit again. the thicker the brake pads, the further outward the caliper moves.

i encourage others to show what they put on and needed to do to get them to fit.
Cold Air Intake, Muffler Delete, Vinci High Performance Dual Valve Springs, Hardened Pushrods, Yella Terra 1.85 Rockers, Some Hydropdipped Stuff, Strut Tower Brace, Some SS Badges, boost/vacuum gauge, fuel pressure gauge, some checkered stripes, drilled/slotted rotors, ZL1addons Stealth wickerbill, Ruxifey LED side markers

    follow the same guidelines.

after seeing about 10 threads in one week about what 15" wheel can i use, i made this.

    the bolt pattern is 5 x 4.75"

Anyone have experience running Center Line Convo Pro's up front and in back?
I'm interested in 15x7 with 5" backspace (+25 offset) up front and 15x9 with 6 1/2" backspace (+32 offset) in back. Any clearance issues with brakes, suspension or fenders?

the last thing i remember reading was the convo pros fit out back with the same amount of grinding. i haven't heard of anyone fitting more than the 15 x 4 wheel for the front. for giggles, i tried putting a 15 x 7 with 4.5" BS on the front of my car a guy was selling. it would not clear the front calipers without a decent sized spacer.

So 15s just don't fit without grinding. Glad I got your input before I spent the money. Back to the drawing board. Know any companies that make light 16/17" wheels for street/strip apps besides billet specialties and center line? Know any aftermarket drag brake kits that would clear the 15s? Not really feeling the whole grinding thing. Thanks.

Bogarts are supposed to. No experience though.

The new Greg Welds are supposed to as well...BUT they are still developing them.

Does that mean that you would have to run a smaller backspace for them to fit and then they would stick way out? So have you heard of those bogarts fitting at all?

BTW, the centerline 15x7 has a 3 3/8" BS. think that would fit?

Last I read (about a week ago) they had the skinnies done, but were still working on the design on the rears.
Apparently...according to a helper in the design...the rears will not be 'grinding free' for another 30 days or so.

    Posted 'elsewhere' yesterday.

Some of the sizes are released. Just not the perfect fitting ones I guess.

from what i know, anything other than the 15 x 4 will not clear. and you'll need a 5/16" spacer for the front with skinnies.

I'm going with the 15x10/7.5 and the 17x8/5.5 greg weld stars. Hope they come out soon. Wanted to go with skinnies in the front but I can't stand the idea of having spacers. I'm not going to gain much aero with the skinnies with how low the front end will be anyways.

    More weight than aero.
Plus, the less on the pavement, the less resistance.

Whats the advantage of running 15" instead of 17"? Do you have to grind the fronts as well? What backspacing should the fronts be?

    There are a few advantages.

    1. Less weight
    2. More sidewall to wrinkle
    3. Seems to be the size that most of the stickiest tires are made to fit.
