Upgrading from 16 inchers!

I am looking to change my wheels from the 16 inch stock TA Wheels and tires. What sizes would you recommend (this is a summer cruizer)?
Also, do I need to re-program the car??

I want the tire to look good without killing the drivability. (Nor do I want to add a ton more weight!).

I personally like the look of 17s all around. Not too big and you can rotate.
If you like the staggered look then 17s up front and 18s out back look good as well

17x9.5's all the way around. looks agressive but wont cause alot of fuss. You can run 275/40's a very common tire so they don't cost an arm and a leg. or you can run up to a 295/40 all the way down to a 245/40 on that rim width

I think 17s are a good all around size for handling and looks. Tires are cheaper and if you go with the same all around, can be rotated to get the most out of the set.
