    Tubes and screws?

If your running tube type drag racing tires do need to use screws? I'm looking at 26x11.5x16 ET Streets. I'm on stock power other than a cat back yet, but I have no idea if tube type tires spin on the rims easier or not.

My other thought was going tubeless with the ET street radials 295/50-16 to keep it simple, but I might need to swap my rear springs before I can run a 27.5" tall tire so I may go for the 255/50-16.

Any other recommendations welcome. I'll only be running the tires at the track seeing my nearest track is about a 2 hour drive from me.

only once you start getting into serious power will you need the screws.
stock-ish power levels, I don't see the need.

Thanks, I'm leaning towards trying the tube tires then. Sounds like they get better traction and should fit better. I'm going to take a run with my street tires being only 25.5 and see where my rpm's are at. Hopefully I'll get the new rear installed this weekend!

I've always ran ET Streets tubeless, never had an issue. Many 10 sec passes and tons of other passes with 1.40 60'. My Dad's car was a H/C Firehawk and it had tubes in the et streets, but w/o screws. It would spin the tire/tube some and the valve stem would be slanted and pulled. So if you go tube, might wanna screw if you start making power. Otherwise don't worry about the hassle.

screws are only needed if you are spinning the tire on the wheel. i doubt you'll ever run into that. i haven't.

Thanks for all the replies. I'll try screw less first and see what happens. I guess I still have to figure out how tall of tires I want to run anyway.
