    Treating tires

Anyone ever treated there tires? I'm involved in karting and when we used to run the harder tires, we would use a product called Gecker to treat our tires and make them softer. It helped a lot with grip, the obvious downside being that the tires wore faster

Anyone ever run a liquid treatment over the tires before they went to the track?

I'm planning on doing this tonight before i go out on the track.. Hopefully ill see some improvement in traction. I'm just running cheap sumitomos right now hoping to get more grip.

They have vht track bite that is supposed to help. Try without anything and see how that goes first. Too much traction with a stock rear can cause problems.

ive been having problems not getting traction, thats why i tried this gecker on my tires. I dont think it really helped. i put on one coat and im pretty sure what sunk into it probably got burnt off by the burnout.

As far as track times by the end of the night i finally broke into the 12's!!!! a 12.994

    60 ft....2.162
    1/8....8.466
    1/4...12.94
    mph....108.29

Still squealed out of the hole but it hooked a lot better after a long burnout.
