    Tires, what should I get?

The camaro I recently purchased needs tires and I wanted to see if anyone had suggestions on what to get. Also I currently cant afford the eagle f1s and my inspection is due at the end of the month. my car being a daly driver I need good all weather tires that sill can handle the performance of the camaro

I run the Nitto 555 DR's out back and the Nitto 555 R's up front. If you don't want to go with a DR tire, the Nitto 555R all around should handle very nicely. And they're not too expensive, I think I spent $145 for 17" 555 R's.

I like BFG's, run them on both 4th gens as well as a few of the classic cars. Various versions of the BFG, just have to pick what's in your price range.

bfg's have held up well despite the first set up front being picked on by the need of alignment. after alignment with similar amount of passes the new set up front have lasted pretty well. rears havent had alignment problems and those are starting to wear quite a bit lately. 2 1/2 years on the rears and about 18-20k miles with no less than 25 passes in the 1/4 mile total.

nittos are amazing...there only down fall is when they get cold..you might as well kiss traction good bye when your car kisses the curb.

michelin makes good all season tires i think? expensive though...sorry not to experienced with all season tires

Nitto is cheap and a step above sumitomo. If you want something that stands out michelin pilot sports were pretty damn good. Kdw nt is another good tire.

Im not sure if they are in your area but "discount tire" can hook you up with tires that will match stock specs. They wont be z rated or have a fancy name but they will get your inspection done and hold you till you can save for quality rubber.

I have BFG KDW NT's and love them. handle.good grip well and ride nice. also they don't seem to wear out anywhere near as fast at my 10000 mile kumho's and I will never buy anytime that says Goodyear on it. have had nothing but trouble with every set I.have ever owned. plus there expensive trash.

The continental extreme-contact dw is getting great reviews also and is cheap. dws for all-season and dw for summer only.

I second Nitto's. I run the 555R DRs in the back and the 450 Extreme's in the front.

I know, but the 450 Extreme's would work for him.

There isn't a tire that exsists.

You'll need to deicide what's more important, the weather handeling or the performance handeling.

I've only had street tires, and obviously those will hold up better than DR's.

I can tell you to avoid yokahoma s-drives for the all weather, had to back the car down the driveway in the snow and couldn't get it back up it without pushing it. Pissed was I.

I'd look at the tread pattern, as I believe there are 3 types of tread you need to have "all weather conditon" tires. I don't have a pic or even a respectable description, but 3 different types none the less.

Eh,,,,I guess it depends on who's behind the wheel.

I run BFG G-force KDWS M&S tires on my 02 SS which is BFG's all weather tire. I find them to handle nicely, faster than I want to go around corners anyway,,,,(I'm not Mario Andretti). And I can cut 1.9 60 foot times on them with 40 PSI of air no less So in my opinion they seem to stick pretty darn good for what they are.

I run the BFG G-force sports on my wifes 00 SS camaro. A little cheaper tire, more performance oriented, and it has a softer rubber compound,,but to be honest, I can't tell from one SS to the other which tires work better on these twisty roads around here. They both seem fine to me. But again I'm not (you guessed it) Mario Andretti

Ummm,,,a wide low profile tire of any kind isn't ideal for snow conditions short of having knobbies with studs sticking out.
