Tires
I need new tires and I still got the stock WS6 rims, what is a good set of tires to run. I have had Kumo Ecstas on them now, but I don't want another low profile tire.

Navy Blue Metallic- 2000 Camaro Z28 A4
What's your stock size? 245/ 50 ZR16?
I just wonder because you chose those Kumho Ecsta tires which are almost the only choice I get here in Europe, and as I was checking on tire-rack I was overwhelmed by the large choice and availability in this specific dimensions.
Weren't you satisfied with those Kumho tires? I'm just asking as I guess there won't be any other option for me...

I've been trying to decide which tires to replace my stock Goodyear F1's with. The more I look, the more confused I get. I have about decided to replace them with the OEM Goodyears.

yep, i have them on my ss and my ws6 i like them. i had some other tires but they were a much harder tire, easy to spin and a ruff ride.
so i switched to the nitto's good price and nice ride. if you can afford the bfg's those are really good, along with the goodyear f1's.Last edited by 1fastcamarosss11; 09-08-2008 at 09:32 AM.

most run the 275 40 on all four corners now. then you can rotate them front to back. as long as you don't get the drag radial ones.
i have the 245 40 17's on the front of my ss till i use them up then going to 275 40 in front and the 315 35 17's for the rear. ( i have the 11 inch rims in the rear.)Last edited by 1fastcamarosss11; 09-08-2008 at 09:31 AM.

Don't you have to drill out the bump stop in the rear to run 11's? I saw some bad reports on the GY F1's on tire rack

I'm still scratching my head over tire selection here, theres just too damn many options.
I need tires that will fit on stock rims, but I don't want low profile tires. But I want something with damn good traction.

Those F1's appear to be decent but tread life isn't expected over 20k miles, and I need something a bit more than that and not quite as expensive.

The tread pattern on the F1's don't look very beefy though. They look more for wet conditions and I only drive it when its dry out, unless it rains while im out.
They are pricey but unless I find something else better soon I will probably go with them. I don't drive the car much and this is the first time in over 7 months I have, so tire life isn't too much of an issue.Last edited by Blackout01; 09-08-2008 at 10:09 AM.
