Tire sizes
My buddy has an 02 chevy camaro with vette wheels on them. What tire sizes are you guys running with 17s in the front and 18s in the rear? Would like the reat to be wider than the front just not sure what sizes people recommend. Local tire shops wand a 245 in the frt and a 265 in the rear. I was thinking 275/40/17 and 285/35/18 or 295/30/18. What do you think

I would go with the tire shop's suggestion. A lot of guys run 255 50 16 dot drag radials on the rear and leave the front stock. I think a 245 is as wide as you can go in the front and a 255 as wide as you can go in the rear. Not sure if the corvette wheels have more of an offset to allow a wider tire or not but I run stock size on both my 5th and 3rd gen and have no complaints about handling. The 5th gen hooks up good with the new Cooper rs3-a tires. The 3rd gen has bfg g-force tires that leave a lot to be desired in traction, but it has around 500hp. I'm looking into dot drags for it. If you are having traction problems and can fit a wider tire on the rear do it, but otherwise your just wasting money in my opinion. Hope this helps.

The stock 17 inch wheels were 275/40/17. He just wanted to go a little wider in the rear. People have put 315s on the back.

What is the width of his wheels? Some vette clone wheels are narrower then the stock 17" 4th gen wheels.
