Street tires Nitto 555s vs NT05s (Not the DRs)

Well, the drag racing guys discussed the 555Rs vs the NT05Rs.....but I'm interested in the Street 555s vs the Street NT05s for everyday driving and autocross.

Does anyone have an oppinion about the NT05s and if they are better and/or on how fast they wear out?

I see the NT05s are rated 200 treadwear as opposed to the 555s 300 rating. But is that because of stickier and faster wearing rubber or simply because the 555s have 10.7mm of tread to start as opposed to the 7.2mm of tread to start on the NT05s (that's exactly 2/3rds as much)

What about the Nitto Invos?

Invo's won't work > All 17" sizes are Drastically too narrow, and even 18" sizes max out at 275, but I run 315 rear (and don't want to change to 18" anyway)

I have invos all around 18 inch rims, 275 up front, 295 out back. nice wear, road noise minimal but i could use more grip. had them for about 3 years. Pushing 410 to the wheel, tires break loose at wide open throttle in 1st and sometimes 2nd.
