Black/Silver Stripes- 2000 Trans am Ws6
rim question
Can you run 18's all around on a 2000 trans am ws.6 w/o having to roll the fender wells to get them not to touch?? If so what sizes. I was lookin at some CCW rims but they only come in 18's so i was curious. Thanks

Depends on offset, and if your lowered or not.

Pulled off LS1 tech should explain it alot better than I can in my own words.
http://ls1tech.com/forums/showthread...t=offset+wheel
Bolt Pattern
5 x 4.75" or 5 x 120.65 mm
The numbers in the columns are as follows:
WIDTH ..... OFFSET ......... WIDTH OF TIRE
Front and Rear
7.0" ..... +35 to +40 mm .... 215, 225, 235
7.5" ..... +35 to +45 mm .... 215, 225, 235
8.0" ..... +38 to +55 mm .... 225, 235, 245
8.5" ..... +38 to +45 mm .... 235, 245, 255
9.0" ..... +38 to +56 mm .... 255, 265, 275
9.5" ..... +38 to +56 mm .... 255, 265, 275, 285
10.0" ... +38 to +48 mm .... 265, 275, 285
REAR Only
10.0" ... +38 to +54 mm .... 275, 285, 295
10.5" ... +38 to +50 mm .... 285, 295, 305, 315
11.0" ... +45 to +56 mm .... 305, 315, 335
NOTE: 315 series tires DO NOT fit 9" or 9.5" wheels. It will not be discussed.
PLEASE READ @ 315's
Z06 Corvette Replicas:
17"x9.5" +50 to +56 mm no problems. 275/40R17.
18"x9.5" +50 to +56 mm 275/35R18 or 285/35R18.
18"x10.5" +50 to +53 mm. Higher than 53 mm will require the BFH mod. 285/35R18s thru 315/30R18. Over 295 may require rolling the fenderlip and will need the BFH. +58 mm is the typical available offset for the Z06 replica, which will require a little BFH and/or a small spacer.
Y2k Corvette Replicas:
17"x8.5" +56 mm
17"x9.5" +50 to +56 mm
18"x9.5" +50 to +56 mm
17"x11" Wheels
ZR-1 Style for Camaro +50 mm (Known as Grand Sport offset)
ZR-1 Style fo Firebird +36 or +50 mm The wheel well on the "bird" is a little wider.
American Racing TT-2's +45 mm
With 17"x11"s there is always a possibility of needing the BFH and/or fender rolling mods with 315s. If lowered, an Adjustable Panhard Bar becomes a virtual necessity. Some have used the +38 offsets with an 11" wheel but it does stick outside the fender and is definitly not recommended on lowered vehicles. +50 and +56 are the two most common. +50 is the better fit (for the ZR-1 replica).
For road race only applications a 17"x11" at all four corners can be made to fit.

i'm running 18's ill have check width and offset and exact tire size, i know they are 245 and 275. No rubbin on my ta, but they were on my v6 bird and the rears rubbed on harsh dips in the road goin 30 mph +, but only after puttin the 275's on.

If you stay in the measurements of the chart betwee those offsets you will be just fine at running 18's on all corners

its not the highth that makes them rub its the with and off set if you go taller you just have to go with smaller side walls. it sucks not being abile to get the wheels you want in the size you want, the set id like to have only come in 18's and up to

Let me ask...
I want to run z06 wheels
18x9.5 fr with 275 tires
18x10.5 rears with 295 tires
My car is lowered, big time! sportlines.
Anyone recommend an offset to prevent from rubbing? I have 275's all the way around currently and don't rub with zr1 wheels. Not sure what my front offset is however, and the rears will need to change slightly of course. what can you recommend?
