Black- 1999 Camaro Z28
Recommendations: 275/40-17 All-season tires
I need a new set of tires. I live in New Jersey, so they gotta be all-season. I'm looking for good traction, under $150 a piece, and I need them to be alright in rain/snow. What do you guys recommend? I'm thinking of maybe Kumho Ecsta ASX, Sumitomo HTR+, Avon Tech M550 A/S, Hankook Ventus V4 ES H105, or BFGoodrich g-force T/A KDWS.

Of the ones listed above I would say the BFG is the best bet. Followed by the Sumi. Keep in mind when shopping for tires, they are the only thing holding your car to the ground. Not the area to cheep out in.

Black- 2001 Camaro SS Vert.
I use KDW. My first ones lasted 45k miles and had great traction, rain or dry. I just bought new ones, but am thinking about new rims/tires. Would you be interested in them together or separate? 2001 SS 10 spokes silver with BFG KDW 275/40-17s with less than 1k miles on them. PM if interested.
edit: mine are BFG g-force KDW (apx. $150 new), not KDWs.Last edited by clemsondave; 03-01-2006 at 08:20 AM.

Kumho Ecsta ASX, Sumitomo HTR+, Avon Tech M550 A/S, Hankook Ventus V4 ES H105
you will be dissapointed in them.......
If you cant afford the full set get 2 of a better tire and then get the second at 5K it will ease the pain.

I have Kuhmo Ecsta ASXs that came on my car, I am indifferent about them. Needless to say I won't be buying them when I need new tires

Those Pirelli P Zero Nero M+S tires are a ZR rated tire. I forgot to mention that above. Don't let the WR throw you off. The WR is listed because it comes in many smaller widths than 275/40/17, etc, respectivelly.

Go to Tirerack.com and check out the specs for the Pirelli P Zero Nero M+S. They cost about $150 each for 275/40/17. Best damn Ultra High Performance All Season Tire there is. Days after getting them on I trudged through 8"+ of snow and never got stuck. In the rain no hydroplaining at all. The tires were on my old '95 Z28. Dry traction was awesome, the specs wont lead you wrong and in my opinion these tires will not disappoint.

I have the BFG g-force KDWS also,I've used Goodyear & Pirelli's before & I like the BFG's the best, although I didn't pay quite as much for them as you're quoting.I don't know where you live in NJ but I got mine in Bensalem,Pa at Keystone Discount Tire on Street Rd at I-95.Give them a call at 215-638-4916,their pricing includes mounting & balancing. If you don't live too far from there it may be worth the trip. They even beat tirerack.com's price after I figured in mount & balance

Out of the ones you have to pick, go with the BFG's. I had a set of KDW's on a 97 Formula and had no complaints. The Goodyear F1 GS-D3 is the best tire I have found so far but, they are about 200.00 a tire.

My buddy had the Kuhmo's on his car and they hooked up great and the tread design is nice aswell. i just put a set of falken ze512 all season tires on my t/a and they look and perform great. If i had the money id go bfg all the way but im more then happy with my falken's for the price
