Nitto 555R vs MT ET Street Radial? -- The Tire Train
I need a good street DR at the track P275/40R17 for the back.
what's the prices on each, what 60' should I expect out of each? and finally which one do you prefer and why?

go with the MT ET streets hook like no other, prolly about 160-180 each and worth every penny, i hear they are cutting 1.6's

I put Falken 452 and I was spining like a mofo pulled 2.3-2.2 60',,, I lost 1 sec @1/8th mile because of poor traction. the Falken 452 are good street tires but for the track they are pretty mediocre.

The Nitto's are good for high powered cars on the street.
Not the best at the track.
I run the Nitto's for the street and the MT's for the track.
I bet even the Nitto's would get you going pretty well though since you have an automatic.
MT's will work better, but will wear MUCH faster.

What was the trap speed??
Just the 1/8 mile?? Or did you run the 1/4 as well?
You will have no problems hooking with those MT's.

ran Friday, for beginners 12.4sec on 1/4mi not a bad time. 115 trap speed. 1.9 60' gotto work on my launches, I know there a high-mid 11s for me just gotto nail the launch right.

Not sure about mid 11's at 115MPH.
That is roughly where I was running on my Nitto DR's.
12.4 to 12.6 at about 115.5. I was getting 2.1-2.2 shorts though.
Might need more stall man. Do you have the dyno chart online??

yeah low 12s is what I expect out of my setup, lot of power but not track optimized yet,
like slicks, tq arms, panhard bar.. etc.. then those 11s will keep coming in.

btw, how do the MT street DRs handle on street when it's hot outside, like 90F? do they get hot but they still hook well>?

I know about those things.
I slipped into the 11's up here...barely.
I would expect an upper 10 out of mine at sea level.
You do appear to need more stall. Of course that depends on if you want to remain streetable or not.
I know they are soft anyways.
Not sure how they act...but I would assume they grab nicely when it is that hot.
Mine don't hook that great on the street period. Of course they are inflated to 26 PSI and not warmed.
They hold great from a roll...but from a dig on the street...not so much.
