If its hooking even in the cold he must not be making that much power and leaving off of idle

Stock Camaro SS 6 speed with lid. Florida cold is not the same as chicago cold. Nevertheless around 45/50 degree's. He went through the older Nitto's and clearly hooks much better than the older set. Those were his findings.

Dont know. Just took his word for it. He does have first hand experience now with both tires though.

The O5 R has a lower tread rating = better traction and less longevity.
Not sure how much wider they are.

Keeping all things equal, which is the better tire, M/T street DR or the O5-R on the street/track?

I ran the same 60' time with street tires as I did with the Nitto 555Rs...

i have nitto 555's just the street tires and i dont hook for shit. every once and a while i will get a 3rd gear churp. however once you heat the hell out of them the hook just fine but seing as though i only go to the track 2-3 times a year i rarely get to actually heat them up
