New Tire Help
I'm looking for some new tires for the Vette.. I'm leaning towards the ones below (TOYO Proxes R888 305 30ZR19 102Y RD) was seeing if you guys new of any other tires I should consider for this rim size 19 x 11.5. I'd like to get a nice 315 but tough to find for 19 inch rim---here are the tire specs and a pic:
Toyo’s next-generation D.O.T.-approved competition radial, the Toyo Proxes R888. In competition, the R888’s improvements in casing design and the new V-shaped tread pattern improves dry performance.
Advanced casing and V-shaped tread pattern, stiffer bead construction and wider tread width enable the R888 to generate more cornering force, with less heat degradation, spiral-wound cap ply.
Semi-slick shoulder area improves steering response, steel wire reinforced sidewalls.
Continuous center contact increases braking performance and feel as compared to RA1, tread depth can be shaved to maximize dry traction.
The V-shaped tread design also enhances wet traction and control.
Proxes R888 features:
-Approved rim width range: 10.5-11.0-11.5 inches
-Weight: 31 lbs
-Tread depth: 0.19 inches
-Tread Width: 12.3 inches
-Inflated dimensions: 26.5 in O.A.D. and 12.0 in O.A.W.
-Static Loaded Radius: 12.4 inches
-Maximum Load: 1874 lbs.
-Maximum Pressure: 50 psi.
-Revs/Mile: 78

that is a great tire... I'd go for it.
But something to consider is 315/25-19 where you'll have a bit more options, such as Michelin Pilot Sport SP2 and Yokohama Advan Sport.Eugenio_SS
almost stock triple-black 2000 SS convertible with 17x11s on all 4 w/ 315s at the track or on the street with 18x10.5s on all 4 w/ 315s: (1), (2)

Have the Sport pilots on the TA really wasn't impressed with them..will the SP2 be better? also that size drops me down to a smaller side wall...thinking I want just a tad more sidewall...was also looking at the Yoko's and just also started considering the RA1's IIR that Toyo makes too...
