need help on what size to go with.. please help

i just bought a front set of factory 02 z06 speedlines and i need to find out what size i need i have seen a lot on the front ( 245/40/17 ).

i will be buying the rear 18x10.5 soon. now i have been looking around and i have seen a bunch on 295/35 and 305's and what not but what im kinda looking for is something not quite as wide. would a 185/35 work out for what im trying to do or do i need to go more with a 185/40 ect.?

if anyone had any pictures that would help to. i also am trying to not spend a ton of money on tires because my car dosent get driven but maybe 5K a year... inface this year its only been out little over 2k...

    thanks for your help.

I have some old wagon wheel vette rims i got for free and ill be running 245/45/17 and a 275/35/18. We put the latter of the two all the way around on my buddy's z28 without a hitch. Plus you will get the best prices for those two sizes than any other close to it, trust me.

these sizes will be right for your rims and maintain the oem diameter so you dont have driveline/speedo issues. to go a little bigger on the front you need 275/40-17.
[if you know anybody in our area that might be interested in a nice 98, hook me up ]

wait, how wide are the front rims? if they're over 9" the 275/40 would probably be a better fit. i have 245/45 on 9" and to some tastes they may be a little small.

Thanks for the input guys.. The wheels are 17x9.5. Front n the back will be 18x10.5. The speedo is already off by 5 mph so I think the last person who owned it had bigger wheels on it.

you definitely don't want to put 245s on 9.5" rims.
