    Is my rim still safe?

I had been getting some noise from the front right wheel for sometime (a week or two) So today me and my buddy were off and I grabbed some new brake pads for the front. I was not sure what was going on but i figured I could put some brakes on when we got the tires off. When I took the front passenger side tire off I found that one of the caliper? bolts were missing and the caliper had been rubbing and flopping around on the inside of the wheel, just wanted to post some pics to see if the wheel is still safe to use. It cut a small groove on the inside of the rim about a 1/16 deep.

I'll hazard a guess and say that you are probably ok. It wouldn't hurt to dismount the tire and check the thickness of your rim in that area just to be sure. I would also dress any sharp edges that may have resulted. You could also fill the groove with a high strength epoxy quite easily.
