Look what I found in a barn
Found what I think is a great deal on some WS6 wheels. Nice guy has had them sitting in his barn for a while. They have a little wear, but nothing horrible, two decent and two bald tires. Were really just caked with crap from sitting.
Back when I first got my T/A I wanted a set of these, but they've always been particularly hard to find for me. Anyone want to school me on these wheels.
Are they 17x9? Did they come on xx year ws6 or were they available on T/a's also? are they chrome, clear or polished alum(looked like polished when I was wiping down). Lastly, what'cha think (am I the only one who likes these?). I'm debating on switching from my black zr1's back to these depending on how they clean up.
Thanks for looking.

Thanks... sofar, I've only hit the one with a hose and wet rag. I really want to find out the finish, so I can clean appropriately.

aluminum with a clearcoat. i like them. careful with the tires though, see how old they are before you do any high speed runs or anything.

Good advice above. Mine are pretty much worn on the rear also (go figure ). Was looking at swapping my fronts onto the ws6 and then fitting a 295 on the rear instead of the 315 I currently have. I figure a good 295 will grip a ton better than my shitty 315.
Here's a lame mock up I attempted for perspective.

Same wheels I had on my Trans Am, there are WS6 wheels off of 01-02. Also, aluminum with clear coat.

Thanks for the info. I was peeking through tire prices and they don't seem to have a very good selection from what I could see on the web page. I was going to run a little larger tire in the back so looking at 285/295 for nitto's. Couldn't find any tire in a 295 diameter, and the 285's only had like 5 choices. This rims going to be way to small I think for a 305?
What's a good tire/tire size for these? I have 2 fronts that will fit now, really only need back tires. Wet weather is not an issue as she gets like 1500 miles a year and only on sunny days. Was eyeballing the DR's, but didn't see any in sizes above.
Thx

save your money...dont get the nittos only becuase they are 285s...as nittos run smaller then most..so your 285s will be the same size if not smaller than your 275s ..besides the size differences...i have heard good things about nittos...as i am getting ready to order a pair of 315 Nitto 555R DRs

Well I was just curious. I saw the non Dr were only $5 more a tire in 285 vs 275. I sure like the look of my big back wheels right now, so not sure yet if I'm going to go back to a 275. Though I think the 275 DR would probably grip better than my cheap 315's I'm running now.
Edit: Got em all rinsed off. One wheel had some good curb rash after all. Is this worth trying to fix or should I smooth this one and strip the clear off all and polish them

If research serves correct, speedlines are becoming scarce. I'd do what it takes within reason to get em fixed back up.
