know of any good bridgestone tires??
my mom has placed clients at bridgestone and gets a nice discount and asked if i wanted some tires.
i know little about bridgestone tires as regards to "performance" applications and was wanting some input. their new potenza re-01 looks pretty good (think thats the name)
i hate that they dont have any wider than 275s for a 17 inch wheel but im not gonna be choosy...
need either 275/40/r17 or 255/40/r17 let me know your thoughts, experiences with brigdestone tires....
thanks.

Well, to be honest, I probably have the most experience with the Bridgestone RE-01 tires than any one else here. I went to Bridgestone Racing Academy, as a mechanic trainee, and the formula cars ran these tires exclusively. They are great tires, in my opinion. I doubt you are planning on doing any serious track time with you car, but if you are, these tires are awsome for traction....untill they get hot, after about 6 laps. Then they get kind of greasy. They seemed to last a while as far as tread wear goes too.
If I were you, hands down I would get these tires, over anthing else for the price.

i appreciate the response for sure man!
im building a street/strip car at the moment but thoroughly plan on doing a bit of road racing at gateway (local track) in the near future.
i am going to get them more than likely, and im glad they are worth the bread.
thanks again.

I had Bridgestone Potenza RE-750's on my old LT1. They seemed to be a great tire for the money. Good traction and looked cool. Also had rim guards on them to keep you from curbing your rims.

Bridgestone bent me over yesterday. I paid 1300 dollars up front for tires, and to have them mounted. 200 dollars for mounting..1100 for tires. Potenzas are fucking pricy. Now I know why people stick with 16 inch wheels lol.

I ride on Potenza Pole Position A/S. As you know Scratch the temps here in St. Louis jump up and down, so I wanted something other than jsut a summer tire. I've got them on the stock 16's. They ride really well, great traction wet and dry.
(cant remember if I asked you in another thread, what part of stL are you in? I work in creve coeur.)
